We really can't believe that Christmas is almost here & it's our first married Christmas! This is also our first couple's style post as a married couple! Crazy. So many new traditions! We love it. This year we got super excited about getting ready for Christmas. We didn't own any Christmas decorations of our own so we made this countdown Calendar and bought a bunch of super cool stuff from Target haha... Well we think it is super cool. Two of the things we bought are in our photos, the blanket and the garland. Our apartment is nicely decorated and festive. We rearranged our furniture for the first time to make room for our tree. We love the new layout so much we think we might keep it that way. It took us a while to go Christmas shopping, but we are almost finished buying gifts. There are few gifts we still have to make and a few we still have to buy. None of the ones we bought are wrapped yet. We typically wait until the last minute to do these things haha. Maybe next year we will start earlier. ;)
Even though we really love decorating and buying gifts for family and friends, we have really been trying to focus on the true meaning of Christmas. It can really be difficult when you get excited about all of these new things. We try to refocus and remember that it's not about the stuff, it's about continuing to remember Jesus and his birth and all that he has done for us. This Christmas we want to keep that our focus. Sometimes bad things can happen that we only focus on the negative and sometimes things are so great that we lose focus of what really matters... either way, we want to remember that it's not about the decorations or gifts, but about our Savior and spreading Joy.
We hope you are having a wonderful week before Christmas, baking cookies, caroling, wrapping presents, last minute shopping and decorating, prepping for a Christmas feast, and all of the fun festivities. We encourage you to remember what is important while you are doing those things.
Do you have any old, or new, favorite traditions?
